The OnePlus Watch 2: Should You Get it?

Anyone who is a fan of Android phones would agree when we say that OnePlus is one of the best Android smartphones that you can get. With a very competitive price tag, OnePlus phones have very commonly been termed “flagship killers” due to their versatile features and fairly affordable price.

Not only has OnePlus made a mark in the smartphone industry, but it is slowly making its way into the “wearable industry” as well with its well-made smartwatches. OnePlus released the OnePlus Watch 2 a couple of days ago and it is up for pre-ordering. To order, all you need to ensure is that you have a superfast and reliable internet service that would allow you to order to watch and get it delivered as seamlessly as possible.

In that case, it would be smart of you to look into Xfinity Internet Plans so that you could get the plan that is best suited to your budget and also hooks you up with a brilliant internet service.

Coming back to the OnePlus Watch 2, here’s everything that you need to know about the watch. So make sure that you read all the way to the end of the article so that you can decide whether or not you should get the smartwatch for yourself.

  1. How was the Original OnePlus Watch?

Before we begin talking about the OnePlus Watch 2, it would only make sense if we gave you an idea about the first OnePlus Watch and what it was like. Well, unfortunately, the first OnePlus Watch wasn’t exactly what you would expect it to be. It was released back in 2021 and one of the main mistakes that OnePlus made was that they integrated their own OS instead of going for WearOS.

The watch was also a huge letdown in terms of functionality. The most that the watch could do was to keep track of your physical activity as they had introduced a new “parkour mode” which many people didn’t even use. The app also seemed to read you as asleep even when you were awake and the pedometer was off by a lot too. There wasn’t even a tap-to-wake feature in the watch! You couldn’t install third-party apps, couldn’t reply to messages, no voice assistant, and a lot more. We can easily say that OnePlus really dropped the ball with this smartwatch.

Don’t lose hope though, we’ll be talking about the OnePlus Watch 2 ahead and we have a lot of good things to say! So make sure that you keep reading ahead.

  1. Which Software does the OnePlus Watch 2 Run On?

You would be glad to know that OnePlus is finally back in the game and is more prepared than ever. They took a solid 3 years to learn from its mistakes and the smartwatch that they have created now is lightyears ahead. You could easily say that the OnePlus Watch 2 is giving direct competition to other smartwatches in the game such as the Google Pixel Watch 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6.

Learning from its mistakes, the OnePlus Watch 2 is coming with an integrated WearOS 4, something that all of us are relieved to hear. WearOS has made it easier to use the watch and the interface is now a lot more interactive than what it used to be. That is one of the many reasons why you should consider getting the smartwatch.

  1. What is the Battery Life of the OnePlus Watch 2 like?

One thing that sets the OnePlus Watch 2 apart from all the other smartwatches is the powerful battery that it packs inside it. OnePlus claims that the watch can easily last you 100 hours if you use it in “Smart Mode”, making it last a little more than 4 days on one complete charge.

If you have heavy usage of the smartwatch, it can last you for about 48 hours, which is 2 days. If you keep a watch on “Power Save Mode” constantly, then you can use the watch for at least 12 days. Crazy, isn’t it? How would you not get the watch now?

  1. Did OnePlus Pay Attention to the Design?

OnePlus most definitely did pay attention to the design, so that the smartwatch would look as sleek as possible on your wrist. OnePlus has added a touch of sleek and premium to the new watch in contrast to the old one. It comes with a stainless steel case and a rubberized band but with an added crown. The silver version of the watch gives you a higher sense of elegance though.

Another thing to keep in mind is the size of the watch. The size is relatively huge, that being because the watch houses two powerful chips for its performance. It is sized at 47mm, which might not be well suited to slimmer wrists but still looks good. Other than that, the smartwatch comes with a Sapphire finish, and a fluoroelastomer band locked at 22mm, allowing you to use customized bands.

Ending Note

It is without a doubt that OnePlus always gives its competitors tough competition with its brilliant features and even better prices with all the phones that it introduced. However, that isn’t just the case with phones anymore, now that they have stepped into the world of immaculate smartwatches!
